Scholarship winner 2025!

The Baltic Union Conference is pleased to announce that this year’s BAUC Scholarship has been awarded to Liene Ģipsle, a dedicated student of Special Education whose work and character reflect a deep commitment to service.

Liene chose the field of Special Education after meaningful volunteer experiences in church ministry at Spāre Primary School and at the Alūksne district association “Saulstariņi,” where she worked with children and youth with special needs. These encounters affirmed her calling to become a teacher who approaches every child with empathy, patience, and creativity, adapting the learning process to each individual’s needs.

She recognizes the growing need for qualified specialists in Latvia and sees her studies as both a personal mission and an opportunity to contribute to the Seventh-day Adventist community, where such professionals are still rare. Through her academic work and practical experience, Liene is preparing to support children with special needs, their families, and the wider community with competence and compassion.

The BAUC Scholarship will help Liene focus more fully on her studies during a time when she is also seeking stable employment. This support enables her to dedicate her energy to developing her skills and preparing for a career that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
