    21–23 September 2018. «Turbas», Latvia By Guntis Bukalders, BAUC Executive Secretary Almost 60 department leaders with their teams from Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian conferences and church administrators came together for a departmental weekend in «Turbas», Latvia, to meet each other, share their joys and challenges, listen to and pray for each other. We had several guest speakers invited from the Trans–European Division — Karen Holford, Zlatko Musija and Peter Bo Bohsen. The seed of an idea to have a weekend-long get-together for the department leaders of Baltic Union Conference was sown in 2017 after the first combined Union-wide Advisory for the Family, Children’s and Women’s Ministries departments.   • Messy Church in Tartu, Estonia

    The «Messy Church» and «Girls for Christ» training in Estonia

    On 17 June 2017, the active members of Tartu Adventist church (Estonia) came together to learn about Messy Church. The concept of Messy Church was actually born in Church of England, when a group at St. Wilfrid’s in Cowplain were frustrated because they did not seem to reach children with God’s story (https://www.messychurch.org.uk). So, they tried to create something interesting and appealing to all ages, and as the results showed, they succeeded. The idea spread quickly across the denominational borders.   • Pathfinder training in Baltics

    On September 22-25 of 2016, BAUC youth department has organised Pathfinder leadership training in Daunoriai village, Lithuania. This much needed training was conducted by the team of Pathfinder leaders from USA.   • Youth Training Program Continues in Riga

    Riga, LATVIA. Youth training seminar «Relay Plus» has started in Riga by Paul Tompkins, Youth Leader of the Trans–Eiropean Division of Seventh-day Adventist Church. The graduates of Relay program of 2009, Riga class, are continuing to learn how to be effective witnesses for Christ. These young people will take a part in the program «Tell the World», which is our acceptance of Christ’s commission to spread the Gospel to every corner of the world, to each living person.   • Twenty Baltic Youth Graduate From ‘Relay’…

    Riga, Latvia — Twenty young people from the Baltic states of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania graduated after completing four ‘Relay’ modules at two-weeks seminars held in Latvia twice during the past year. This is the first group from the Baltic states that have completed the Relay programme. Relay is the Trans-European Division (TED) Institute of Youth Evangelism. Nearly 30 participants attended the seminar in Riga, 27 September — 9 October. The module presented the first week was ‘Foundations of Christian Youth Outreach’, taught by Paul Tompkins, TED Youth Director and Michael Hamilton TED Personal Ministries Director.     Riga, Latvia —More than 40 attentive young people from Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia attended the first Relay course held in the Baltics, 5-17 April. During the first week, the module ‘Foundations of Adventist Beliefs’ taught by Dr Gunnar Pedersen, Newbold College lecturer, and Paul Clee, Field Secretary of the Trans-European Division, created a good foundation and generated a deep interest of the subject. Pastor Clee commented, “I found working with the young people of the Baltic States a real joy. They were responsive and willing to try anything”.     Kaunas, LITHUANIA. January 14th was historic and very special day for Kaunas “Mira” Youth Church (it is still a group according to it’s status), because it was the first Sabbath worship that was organised by “Mira” Church young people. It all started two years ago as a Global Mission project to start a youth church in Kaunas city and it is still an ongoing Global Mission project.     Põlva, ESTONIA. More than 300 young people will come to Põlva to celebrate their annual The Bible and The Ball Days (PPP’05) on February of 18-20. This popular sports and Bible study event has been a tradition for Adventist youth in Estonia for a long time.
